Spring is well and truly here! As the days get lighter and warmer, we thought we’d explore 5 springtime events happening across the South East not to be missed!

1. Experience more live music in the heart of Sudbury

The beautiful Grade 1 listed St Peter’s Sudbury on Market Hill is Sudbury’s go-to cultural venue. 4. Hedingham Castle spring jousts!knight

This Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday jousting season begins! From 10am-5pm, 21st & 22nd April, immerse the whole family in this medieval spectacular from the Knights of Middle England at Hedingham Castle. Or if Knights of Royal England are more to your liking, another spring bout of jousting is scheduled for the Spring May Bank Holiday weekend (Sunday 26th and 27th May) at the best-preserved Norman keep in England. Just 15 minutes by car from Sudbury, from jousting action and traditional costumes to period musicians and beautiful birds of prey displays, make this year’s spring bank holiday a memorable one!

5. Bury St Edmunds Festival

From 16th – 26th May, Bury Festival is a real extravaganza of music, theatre, film and exhibitions impressively stretched over 10 days. Celebrating its 34th year and featuring 50 events across 13 venues, this year’s exciting line-up includes musician Rick Wakeman, poet John Cooper Clarke and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.
